What You’ve Been Waiting For: My New Podcast is LIVE!

Today is a thrilling day for me. This podcast has been many years in the making, took lots of hard work, and me becoming more of a techy thanks to Youtube! Many of you have asked me to start a podcast and I wasn’t sure I had the bandwidth for it, but as blogging in written form has evolved into my audience imbibing content through audio, I decided to follow the trend and start my own podcast! You can listen on Spotify here.

What is Missionary Life About?

A podcast about how helpers can thrive in their mission. Whether you are in ministry, a missionary, or a missional mother, this podcast will offer practical tools on how to remain spiritually, emotionally, and physically healthy while living missionally. The missionary life is lonely and full of loss, trauma, heartbreak, disappointment, and life not turning out how we expected. I want you to be able to heal from these experiences and build resilience. Learn to prevent and heal trauma, compassion fatigue, and burnout in in-depth interviews with mental health professionals and other missionaries. I will bring my many years of experience in missions and wisdom to the table to help you live your life on purpose while thriving at the same time. A must-listen for all missionaries and those who support them.

What is this First Episode About?

This first episode is a deep dive with Pastoral Counselor Jonathan Trotter, author of Serving Well and Digging in the Dirt. I deeply respect Jonathan’s work and I’ve known him for years due to my writing for A Life Overseas, the missionary blog he and his wife Elizabeth host. We talk about how to remain emotionally healthy on the field and discuss everything from anger, to anxiety, to depression, to compassion fatigue and adrenal fatigue and offer practical tools for how to move through each of these emotions. You can also watch the video recording on YouTube!
