Grief, Rituals & Allowing Joy with Amanda Held Opelt

Guys, I’m honored to have Amanda Held Opelt, author of A Hole in the World, and sister of the late Rachel Held Evans on my podcast Missionary Life today. This is my favorite episode so far! We share about the excruciating grief Amanda went through with the loss of her sister and how through the practice of rituals she was able to heal and reconnect with her faith. We also discuss her humanitarian aid work, and how she learned to allow joy and grief to coexist, as well as what it looks like to grieve alongside others. Grief is such an important topic for missionaries and global workers and I hope you will gain a lot of insights from this episode on how to recover from grief. This is a special episode you won’t want to miss. To connect with Amanda or read her new book Holy Unhappiness go to https://amandaheldopelt.com/.

And as always, if you’re enjoying the podcast please listen or download, and leave a 5 star review. It helps me so much as I seek to build a wider audience around these significant mental health topics! We’re at 75 downloads, and I’m aiming for 100 before the end of the day!

Be well my loves!
