During the busy holiday season moms and those in m

During the busy holiday season moms and those in ministry carry a heavy mental load. But I’m learning we can let some of the perfectionism and weight of responsibilities go. You don’t have to carry it all, it doesn’t have to be perfect. It’s ok if your kids only want to eat chocolate instead of listening to the Advent story, if you have to say no to hosting or attending a party, if you put gifts in bags instead of wrapping them. The joy of Christmas is found in slowing down, in appreciating the wonder of the season, instead of rushing around trying to create magic✨So I’m saying no to some things, some parties, decorating that gingerbread house, and keeping our home spotless. The Christmas cards will be late and I may not bake anything, but that’s ok. Jesus is found in those still small moments lighting the Advent candles, watching a silly Christmas movie with my son, staying in my pajamas a little longer. If you’re in a painful one, one full of transition, one where you’re busy and don’t feel like yourself, all of it is preparation✨I finally feel I’m entering a season of joy, but it has come after a long season of waiting, of fighting through hurts and darkness. There were days I though anxiety would overwhelm me. And then gradually I woke up to the realization that the season had shifted, and Fod was using all the wounds and healing to provide healing for others✨You are not stuck. I hate to say it but “Good intentions are not enough when it comes to God’s calling on your life.” You know you are called to a higher purpose, but often if we undertake our mission ill- prepared or without preparation we are bound to fail or cause harm✨Completing the mission God had for you takes grit and grace, preparing, training, and loads of a teachable spirit and self-compassion. You have to be ready to sacrifice and know what you don’t know yet. In the missions world plenty to out with good intentions only to perpetuate the white savior complex or burn out. They wonder why they couldn’t finish the race God set before them and it’s because they didn’t invest the time and humility up front to be prepared✨I want to help you be successful in your mission and to thrive while doing it.

Unpopular opinion: As a working mom, I often feel pulled between these two tensions: the desire to create and the desire to be there for my family as a wife and mother. Our society often demands we choose, it tells us we can't do both and that we must be either Suzy homemaker, or a workaholic mompreneur. But I think we've been sold a lie🔥God placed dreams in your heart He wants you to pursue, even in the midst of motherhood. You have a call on your life, and ignoring it only leads to depression and dissatisfaction. I know, I've been there. Somehow I'm finding a third path, to do both. It isn't easy, it requires everything from me--writing during nap times, juggling the domestic load while going after my career. But I wouldn't have it any other way👏My anxiety and depression decreased once I was able to admit to myself I wanted to be both and began carving out a path for myself that resembled my heart. With so many new followers I thought I’d take a minute to introduce myself! I’m Sarita, a Latinx author of books, one which will be published called Healing Her in 2024. I’m also a missionary and mothers life coach, an Enneagram 2, an INFP, a speaker, and I live in Puerto Rico. I have a blog I’ve been writing for over 15 years!✨Some fun facts about me is I’m a Christian and my passion in life is to see missionaries and mothers walk in emotional, spiritual, and physical health. I help people heal from trauma, compassion fatigue, and ptsd. I’ve healed my body of adrenal fatigue and I’m practicing self-care daily. I lived in Uganda 7 years running a non profit alongside my Ugandan partners, and I witnessed the harmful effects of the white savior complex in missions. The white savior complex is prevalent among missionaries, the church, and humanitarian workers and it is simply the belief that white people are here to save, help, teach and protect their non-white counterparts💔Sadly, Renee Bach was one of these missionaries who opened up a medical clinic in Jinja, Uganda even though she had no formal medical training.
